This course introduces students to contemporary theories, principles, and practices in education. It provides opportunities for students to critically examine, analyse, and reflect on their own teaching practices in relation to current educational theories, research, and emerging pedagogical approaches. Students will also have opportunities to engage in online discussions on contemporary issues in education. These discussions provide opportunities to strengthen their critical thinking skills, deepen their professional knowledge, and develop the skills needed to design, implement, and evaluate effective teaching and learning practices. The course also supports students in responding to diverse learner needs and promoting inclusive, student-centred learning environments. The course also encourages reflective practice, professional growth, and the application of evidence-informed strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness.
